Properly set goals are extremely important to success in every area of our lives, which is why we make learning about the goal-setting process such an integral element of our Supreme Concepts training program. When we have clear expectations and well-defined action steps, it’s easier for us to achieve as individuals and as an organization.
There are many approaches that we share when it comes to defining objectives, but the basic Supreme Concepts approach goes like this:
• Cultivate a Vision: Before starting out on any journey, it’s important to know where you’re going. This applies to setting and achieving career goals as much as it does a road trip. We spend time thinking not only about what we want to do, but about who we will be as a result of our success. How will we look, feel, and live when our ambitions are realized?
• Keep Your Vision in the Front of Your Mind: Five minutes of journaling a day will help keep your dream alive. If you’re a visual thinker, create a vision board. These are both powerful tools for staying focused.
• Prioritize: All worthwhile achievements require personal change. Rather than try to become a new person overnight, we suggest committing to one big change that will have the most impact.
• Focus on Action: Once your vision for the future is established, we recommend shifting your focus to the daily action steps and lifestyle choices that will help you get from where you are to where you want to be.
